Max Spies is the new EMX2T European Champion

Decisive victory for Nicholas Lapucci

The final round of the European Championship 2T took place in Mantova, at the Tazio Nuvolari track.

Max Spies showed up at the appointment as series leader, while Federico Tuani was third in the standings.

Spies starred in the qualifying and also took the pole position, followed by team-mate Federico in second place.

Tuani took the hole shot soon after the start of race1, but at the second corner Spies took the lead of the group. Max pulled away and ended up the race with his fifth victory of the season. Federico’s performance was excellent; after a solid start he moved back to the third spot to move up again to the second one and classify right behind his team-mate.

In the second moto Federico pulled away at the start one more time and took command of the race. This time he held the lead till the checkered flag. Spies, strong and firm, was aware of his safe margin over rivals in the Championship standings so he focused on a flawless riding style and eventually classified third.

After the result of this race Max Spies was crowned European Champion 2T.

Federico Tuani was the GP winner and came home with the second position overall in the Championship standings.

Moving to the European Championship 250, riders disputed the penultimate appointment of the season. Nicholas Lapucci wanted to achieve an outstanding result at this GP.

The strong Tuscan rider set the fastest time of his group in the time practice but was second overall.

Nicholas pulled away at the start of race1 and with the wind at his back took the lead. Lapucci pushed as hard as he could and won the race with a very good margin over rivals.

The start of race2 was not as perfect as the previous one, but he worked his way up and took the leadership of the moto at the second corner. Nicholas’ race pace was very solid and the rider perfectly managed to keep rivals under control. Lapucci won the GP of Lombardia with two peremptory victories.

With today’s result Nicholas Lapucci strengthened his leadership in the Championship standings in view of the very final appointment of the season scheduled for Tuesday November 9.

Marco Maddii commented on the race: “Excellent day today. Spies was just perfect and won the Championship. Nicholas too was fantastic with two stunning victories, which strengthened his position in the Championship standings. Today we’ll celebrate Max’s triumph but we’re also very focused on the last race scheduled for Tuesday”.
